WE ARE BACK (after Lockdown)

Climbing mountains for Swinton Lock

The revised target for this fundraiser is for TWELVE MOUNTAINS to be climbed by climbers and for £12,000 to be raised.

Swinton Lock is an amazing charity on the outskirts of Rotherham that does great work for lots of people including victims and survivors of childhood sexual exploitation (CSE).

"Elizabeth" and T, two adult survivors of CSE in Rotherham have both been through trials leading to convictions are joining in this challenge. In Elizabeth's words: "We have to keep climbing those mountains".

Others have also said they want to climb mountains for Swinton Lock.

Peaks completed so far:

Esk Pike (2904 feet - 885 m) Bowfell (2959 feet - 902 m) - both at the top of the Langdale Valley in the beautiful Lake District

Pen-y-ghent (2,277 feet - 694 m)

Benbradagh (1,526 feet- 465 m) in the beautiful Sperrin mountains

Stanage Edge (1500 feet - 458 m) climbed from Hathersage (and onto Redmires Reservoir) as preparation for a group of adult survivors of CSE to climb it in the future.

Ingleborough (2,372 feet - 723 m) climbed from Clapham

And a group of survivors and their friends did a walk on 15th March 2020 - then Lockdown prevented further walks.
