My Story

Walking 500 miles for Swinton Lock

I am enormously grateful to everyone who has supported me in already raising £1301 for Swinton Lock (26.5.18).

Jess the Collie has also raised £905 walking for Swinton Lock.

That’s a total so far of £2206.

Swinton Lock is an amazing charity.

I have been to Swinton Lock many times since early in October and I have seen the enormous benefit that the staff there bring to everyone who attends the Centre.

On 13 December 2017 it was exactly a year from when I had major surgery for cancer.

Beginning on 8 December 2017, I started to celebrate the success of my cancer surgery by walking 100 miles for Swinton Lock.

My target was to walk on as many days as possible in the hope that I would walk a total of 100 miles by the end of January.

When I completed 100 miles I decided to continue walking for 200 miles.

When I completed 200 miles I decided to continue walking for 300 miles.

When I completed 300 miles I decided to continue walking for 400 miles.

Now that I have completed 400 miles I am going to aim to walk 500 miles for Swinton Lock, especially as generous people keep making donations to this wonderful charity.

It really is the case that every penny will make a difference to the lives of others.
